On March 30-31st, 2017, at the Annual FIU Biomedical and Comparative Immunology (BCI) Symposium, there were faculty, staff, and students from various institutions, including the University of Texas, Arlington; University of Rochester NY; and the University of Alberta; as well as 45 students from local high schools (MAST Academy and TERRA Environmental Research Institute) each day and a group of 30+ undergraduates and graduates from the University of Puerto Rico – Arecibo.
Now in its nineteenth year, the BCI Symposium ran for two days, offering various learning and networking opportunities that fostered interactions among attendees. Presenters ranged from well-established scientists to assistant faculty to graduate and undergraduate students. As in previous years, the participants and attendees found the plenary speakers and other speaker presentations interesting, informative and stimulating.
